I recently got a smoker grill. Now that I am in Florida, I can grill all year round. With this smoker grill, I make myself a Smoked Burger on it all the time. How do you smoke a burger you may be asking? It is actually simple!
- Prepare your smoker
- 225°F for about 60-90 minutes depending on how you like your burger.
What if you do not have a smoker for your grill? Adding wood chips to a chargrill burning grill will help add that smokey flavor to a burger!
This year, I wanted to play with a Ranch Burger. I personally like ranch dressing, it is good on a beef burger recipe. However, I wanted the ranch flavor to be inside the meat.
So adding a little of the dry ranch dressing to the beef burger recipe really added that ranch flavor I wanted. This Ranch Burger is a perfect addition to my collection of tasty burgers recipes!
If this is a Ranch Burger, then how is it a Bourbon Burger? That is easy to answer it is because of the bourbon glaze recipe I brushed on the homemade burger as it was smoking on my grill! Bourbon and ranch make a great combo in a beef burger recipe!
Beef Burger Recipe
Even though this beef burger recipe has both ranch and bourbon in it, It still needed that final touches. So to assemble this tasty burger, I used Cabot cheddar cheese, french fried onions, and bacon jam. I admit I got my inspiration from some Smokehouse burgers I have seen!
- 1 lb ground sirloin
- 2 tablespoons dry ranch dressing
- 1 tablespoon dried minced onions
- 1/4 cup Bourbon
- 2 tablespoons honey
- hamburger buns
- ranch dressing
- french fried onions
- bacon jam
- Mix the bourbon and honey together until the honey dissolves
Smoking The Burgers
- In a bowl, add the ground sirloin, dry ranch seasoning and minced onions.
- Mix well and form into patties.
- Prepare your smoker grill to 225F
- Add the burgers, when they smoked for about 45 minutes, brush on the bourbon glaze.
- Continue to smoke the burgers for about an another 15 minutes or until the internal temp is 165F
- Add some of the Cabot cheddar cheese and let it melt onto the burgers,
- On the bottom of the hamburger bun, place a layer of ranch dressing.
- Next add some of the french fried onions.
- Lay the burgers onto the top of the french fried onions.
- On the top part the hamburger bun, add some of the bacon jam.
- Serve the burgers up and ENJOY!
