Chocolate Covered Strawberries

I decided to make a Halloween chocolate covered strawberries for my first Choctoberfest recipe. Halloween is coming up soon and a cute Halloween treat would be perfect!

Perfectly Purple Sprinkle Mix

When it was announced that Sprinkle Pop was one of the sponsors for Choctober, my mind went crazy with ideas. When I saw this beautiful Perfectly Purple Sprinkle Mix I thought, that would be cute to make sugar plums with for Christmas! The mixture of purple and metallic sprinkles are so pretty!

Halloween Purple People Eater

I was editing the Monster Pops recipe when the idea to use the purple sprinkles to make Halloween purple people eater recipe. Plus these cute purple monsters would be a wonderful kid-friendly recipe as well!

 

Halloween Fun Recipe

This Halloween fun recipe was easy to make. The purple sprinkles really make these chocolate covered strawberries stand out! How about making some with you kids today for Halloween treat!

Yield: 12 Strawberries

Purple People Eater Strawberries

The Purple People Eater Strawberries is a fun chocolate Halloween recipe! This spooky recipe uses purple sprinkles from Sprinkle Pop to make these kid-friendly Halloween treat!

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes
Additional Time 1 hour
Total Time 1 hour 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 bag (12 oz) Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 12 strawberries
  • Sprinkle Pop's Perfectly Purple Sprinkle Mix
  • Candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Line a cookie sheet with wax paper.
  2. Fill a sauce pan with water and bring it to a boil.
  3. Place the chocolate chips in a metal bowl and put the bowl on top the boiling water.
  4. Turn the heat off the water and continuously stir the chocolate chips until they are melted and smooth.
  5. Take the melted chocolate off the water.
  6. Dip the strawberries into the melted chocolate
  7. Next dip the chocolate strawberry into the purple sprinkle mix.
  8. Place the strawberry on the wax paper lined cookie sheet.
  9. Dip the back of the candy eye into a little bit of the melted chocolate.
  10. Place the eyes on the strawberry.
  11. Do that for the rest the strawberries and place the cookie sheet in the fridge for 1 hour so the chocolate will harden.
  12. Take the strawberries out and ENJOY!

Notes

Make sure the strawberries are dry, not wet when you dip them in chocolate or chocolate will not stick.
