I love making unique cupcake recipes. I have several on Seduction in the Kitchen like Limoncello Cupcakes (Limoncello Alcohol Infused}. What makes these kiss cupcakes a unique cupcake recipe? Honestly, it is the chocolate on top of chocolate!

Easy Chocolate Cupcake Recipe

To make this easy chocolate cupcake recipe, cake mix with a few additions is the answer. So would these kiss cupcakes really be death by chocolate cupcakes? Yes, but let’s be honest, the term death by chocolate is overdone. I like Kiss Of Chocolate Cupcakes as a title better because it is a small chocolate kiss that tops this chocolate cupcake recipe.

Chocolate Cupcake Frosting

Even though this chocolate cupcake recipe is easy, the real star is the chocolate cupcake frosting! Imperial Sugar makes a powdered sugar that just makes this chocolate cupcake frosting pop. Plus this chocolate cupcake frosting is super easy to make!

Kiss Of Chocolate Cupcakes

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes
Kiss Of Chocolate Cupcakes is one of my unique cupcake recipes! This easy chocolate cupcake recipe is chocolate on to of chocolate.

Ingredients

Cupcakes

  • 1 box of fudge chocolate cake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 box chocolate pudding
  • 3 oz chocolate yogurt
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Chocolate Buttercream

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 Tablespoon milk
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 12 chocolate kisses for garnish

Instructions

Cupcakes

  1. Add the chocolate cake mix to a bowl.
  2. Add the rest of the cupcake ingredients to the cake mix and nix until combined.
  3. Fill cupcake liners until they are 2/3 way full
  4. Bake the cupcakes according to the box directions.

Chocolate Buttercream

  1. Cream the butter and Crisco together.
  2. Next, add the cocoa powder to the butter mixture. Mix until smooth.
  3. Add in the vanilla
  4. Next mix in the powder sugar, scraping the bowl down as you mix the frosting.
  5. Add the mix, and beat another minute.

Cupcake Assembly

  1. When the cupcakes are cool, pipe on the chocolate buttercream.
  2. Place a chocolate kiss on top of the buttercream.
  3. Serve the cupcakes up and Enjoy!
