I love a good quick bread recipe. I love having a slice of quick bread for my mid-morning snack with a cup of coffee. When you find a quick bread recipe that is irresistible, like this chocolate raspberry one, you make it your signature recipe.
Chocolate bread
When I first made this chocolate raspberry bread, I was doing a blog train that chocolate recipes. I wanted to make something different and chocolate bread was something I thought would be amazing.
Why chocolate bread? Well, being from Pennsylvania, Hershey rules. There at Hotel Hershey, they used to serve this double chocolate bread that just made your mouth sing with pure delight.
I wanted to create something similar to that chocolate quick bread that would please chocolate lovers out there.
Chocolate raspberry
What inspired me to combine a raspberry flavor in this chocolate bread? Honestly, it was a chocolate raspberry truffle.
Chocolate raspberry just goes so well together. Plus I had just found a raspberry flavoring that was perfect to bake with.
Another reason too is chocolate raspberry goes so well with a cup of coffee.
Double chocolate
How is this chocolate quick bread a double chocolate recipe? It is because it has 2 different chocolates in it: cocoa powder and chocolate chips.
I made this quick bread recipe to appeal to chocolate lovers out there. By adding some chocolate chips to a cocoa powder chocolate bread is double chocolate decadence!
Chocolate Raspberry Bread
Chocolate raspberry bread is a simple and delicious quick bread recipe. The raspberry chocolate combination is what makes this double chocolate bread irresistible.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Baking Cocoa
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup butter (softened, 1 stick)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup Raspberry Syrup
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mini Morsels
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
- Combine flour, cocoa, salt, baking powder and baking soda in medium bowl.
- Beat butter, Raspberry Syrup, and sugar in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually beat in flour mixture alternately with buttermilk.
- Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Bake for 20 minutes. Top with the mini morsels and continue baking for 30 to 35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes; remove to wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve it up and ENJOY!
