Lent recipes

What are Lent recipes? Lent is an observance in the Christian liturgical calendar commemorating the 40 days Jesus spent fasting in the desert. Usually Lent recipes are meatless and fish dishes.

You will see plenty of fish recipes, especially ones like my Pittsburgh Lent Fish Sandwich. Speaking of fish, the churches also have plenty of fish fries too. Seafood lovers love when Lent starts.

My favorite recipe with tuna is a tuna noodle casserole recipe. Growing up we had the classic tuna noodle casserole throughout the year. It wasn’t just a dish we enjoyed during lent.

Why did we have tuna noodle casserole all year? Well, the tuna noodle casserole recipe is great for your budget. Canned tuna is cheap and is great for when you need to be on a budget.

Plus the classic tuna noodle casserole is great to make ahead and freeze. Another bonus of making a tuna noodle casserole recipe is the leftovers. This is a tuna dish that is great leftover to enjoy for a second day.
