Baked Potatoes On The Grill

Last summer I admit I got obsessed with making baked potatoes on the grill. I personally love grilled baked potatoes. In fact, I think making baked potatoes on the grill is way easier than baked potatoes in the oven.

French Onion Grilled Baked Potatoes

So I decided to create French Onion Grilled Baked Potatoes. I fell in love in love with that french onion butter that I felt that it would be amazing in a grilled baked potato.

Baked Potato Secret

One secret I have to make baked potatoes is I rub the outside of the potato with a clove of garlic. The garlic on the potato skin is simply amazing!

Making Grilled Baked Potatoes

Instead of me rubbing a clove a garlic on the outside the potato, I decided to melt a little bit of the Chef Shamy garlic butter. Then I brushed the outside with the garlic butter. Wow! The potatoes were delish!

To make these French Onion Grilled Baked Potatoes really amazing, I also topped these baked potatoes with cheese and chives. Talk about an amazing grill recipe!

FrenchOnionGrilledBakedPotatoes

French Onion Grilled Baked potatoes is an easy and flavorful baked potato. The wonderful French onion flavor of these potatoes comes from Chef Shamy's French Onion butter. The best part is these baked potatoes are they are made on the grill!

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 1 hour 5 minutes
Total Time 1 hour 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 4 tablespoons French Onion butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons garlic butter, melted
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped

Instructions

Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-low heat. Cut four foil squares large enough to fold over one potato each. Spread the melted garlic butter onto each piece of foil Place a potato onto each foil. Slice each potato lengthwise but only go about half way deep when you cut. You only want to make a slit in the potatoes. Roll each potato in the foil. Grill for 1 hour, or until soft, turning the potatoes often. Take the potatoes off the grill, and open up the foil, carefully. Add a tablespoon of the Chef Shamy French Onion Butter into each potato. Top each potato with some the cheddar cheese and chives. Place back on the grill upright and grill them for about 5 minutes or until the cheese is nice and melted. Take off the grill, serve them up and ENJOY!
