Vampire's Kiss Cocktail

I am now officially on VACATION! I always take vacation around my birthday. I always go to my parent’s house in Pittsburgh. What I love about the drive to PA from Cleveland, Ohio is I am surrounded by all these trees that are changing colors.

It is flat in Ohio all around you as I am driving. The closer I get to PA the mountains start and that is when I see these mountains covered in this rich colors of red, yellow, and orange. It is so beautiful to see. I can’t take a photo while I am driving to show you this beauty, BUT where my mom and dad live these mountains surround them. I promise on the next recipe post, I will take photos of this beautiful scene so you can see what I am talking about. It is breathtaking this color that surrounds you. You can not see this in Cleveland, and because, well there is no mountains here, it all flat land.

Every Fall I do a specialty drink, usually, it is Halloween themed. Let’s see I have created (Just click on the photo to be taken to the recipe)

Yes, I love making these Fall themed cocktails. It is fun to create a drink with alcohol. I really enjoyed coming up with all these cocktails. As I write this post, I am looking at these drink cocktails, and I see the fun drinks I came up with, but I am also seeing how far I come in the photography. The Witch’tini is from last year and in a year I can see how far in the styling alone for the photo. It is good to have goals and see them as they progress. For me, that is my food photography.Vampire's Kiss Cocktail from Seduction in the Kitchen

So I wanted to create a drink that was Halloween. I have tart cherry juice, I been wanting to use it in a cocktail for a long time. I have been big on the tart cherry juice because of it is great for arthritis. As you may recall, I have a very bad foot, when I started Seduction in the Kitchen, I was in a cast. It was because of this foot. Well, after it healed, I got arthritis in it. I had a doctor tell me to have 2oz of tart cherry juice every night before bed to help with the pain my foot will have. Well, I can say it really does help!

Getting back on subject, I wanted to use the tart cherry juice in a drink and the color reminds me of blood, so vampire is a perfect name. Plus, I am a phlebotomist, and everyone calls me a vampire due to my profession, so in a way, this is “my” drink. A little playing around with some mixology with alcoholic spirits and poof! The Vampire’s Kiss was created.
