Rum drink recipe
Do you drink rum? Since I moved to Florida, rum-based cocktails are huge down here. When I was thinking up a summer cocktail recipe, I knew I wanted to make a rum drink recipe.
Pirate drink
When comes to rum, I do think of a Pirate drink. Blame Disney World. On the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, the pirates drink rum. So stands to reason why I think of rum as a Pirate drink.
Pirate’s Booty
I wanted to create this rum cocktail with a pirate theme. The words Pirate’s Booty kept coming to mind. What is a Pirate’s Booty?
Some know Pirate’s Booty as a puffed corn snack. But Pirate’s Booty is also a term for a Pirate’s treasure. So I wanted a rum cocktail recipe that would be shiny like Pirate’s gold. A pirate’s treasure but in a cocktail recipe.
Edible gold glitter
Thinking of Mermaid Dreams and Unicorn Kisses drink recipes I have created. I used luster dust to make the drinks shimmer.
So to make this Pirate’s gold cocktail stand out, I wanted to use edible gold glitter in this rum drink as I did with those cocktails.
But a drink recipe called Pirate’s Booty needs a great garnish as well. That is where the edible gold leaf comes in.
I wanted a gold drink and this rum cocktail is very golden and tastes amazing for summer!

You don't suppose your association of rum with pirates has anything to do with the sea chanty that includes the line "Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum," do you?
