I love wine. So making a wine cocktail is very easy for me. What is a wine cocktail recipe?

A wine cocktail recipe is when you use wine as one of the ingredients in a cocktail. Yes, I know the name wine cocktail is the giveaway. You would be surprised at how many do not realize you need wine for a wine cocktail.

Cherry Wine

I have a fondness for cherry wine. I had some cherry wine when I went to a wine tasting a few years ago. That cherry wine drink was so yummy, I think I drank the whole bottle of it!

Dark Cherry Fireside Cider

So how did I get inspired for this Dark Cherry Fireside Cider? Well, sort of from my sister. You see she too is really into wine. So she has been visiting wineries in PA. She found a recipe for winter cocktails at one of the wineries.

Cherry Cider Recipe

At one of the wineries, they gave her a slow cooker wine cocktail recipe. She made it on Thanksgiving for my family and turned out very good. Of course, my sister gave me the recipe.

I decided to change that wine cocktail up a little. I turned it into a cherry cider recipe.  This fireside cider was amazing with the changes I made to it.

Christmas Wine

Trust me you will want to get your slow cooker out to whip up a batch of this Christmas wine. It is sweet with a little spice combined with a dark cherry taste. 

The secret to these winter cocktails is one the wine, but also you need a slow cooker. You need this cherry cider simmering so the flavors in it blend together and make this Christmas wine.

Dark Cherry Fireside Cider

Dark Cherry Fireside Cider is an easy slow cooker holiday wine cocktail. Perfect to sip on a chilly winter evening.

Cook Time 2 hours

Total Time 2 hours 5 minutes

Ingredients

• 1 bottle (750 ML) Moscato wine
• 3 cups apple cider
• 4 cinnamon sticks
• 1 tablespoon raw honey
• 12 oz sweet dark cherries

Instructions

1. In a slow cooker, add the wine, apple cider, cinnamon sticks, honey, and the cherries.
2. Mix everything together.
3. Put the slow cooker on low and let it cook for 2 hours.
4. Switch the slow cooker to warm, serve it up and ENJOY!
