Christmas Present To Me

A

s this will be my last post of 2017, I am sure you can see a difference in the lighting on this Blood Orange Margarita photo. Well, there is a reason why I bought myself a professional photography light. It was my Christmas gift to myself.

I got a little extra money, plus this light was on sale, so I bit the bullet and bought it. I am still learning it how to use it. It is so much better than my homemade lighting system I built. I can’t wait to use it for videos, which hopefully will be soon.

I am closing 2017 on a really good note. Usually, when New Year’s Eve approaches it is I can’t wait to get the year over and done with. Usually because had rough years. This year was different for me.

2017 was a year where I really come into my own. In terms of Seduction in the Kitchen, I made major changes that I am now seeing the growth I have been longing for. In My personal life, I come to realize my self-worth and realized I worked hard to get where I am now, which is comfortable with myself.

Blood Orange Margarita Recipe

Blood Orange Margarita wide shot

I recently discovered blood oranges. I saw a segment years ago on a cooking show where they were using a blood orange in a recipe and I thought the wine color of the blood orange was just beautiful. That image of the blood orange ended up being stuck in the back of my head after that.

Then, about a year ago, my grocery store got in a shipment of blood oranges. I finally got to try this beautiful wine colored piece of citrus. Let’s say it was love at first taste of that juice of that fruit.

This will be my second recipe to feature blood oranges, the first was the Orange Snowball Cookies. Well when I saw that Bolthouse Farms now has a blood orange juice out, I quickly thought it would be amazing for a Blood Orange Margarita. I was right that juice just really makes this Blood Orange Margarita explode with flavor. Perfect to celebrate the end of 2017 for me.

Thank you for a great 2017! Without you, my readers, this blog would not exist. Cheers! Here is to 2018!
