Easy pie recipes

If you want easy pie recipes, the best way is to use a canned pie filling. True the pie recipe isn’t homemade if you do that, but it does make it a semi-homemade recipe.

Plus using the pie filling from a can shortcut does cut back on time. Isn’t that the point of easy pie recipes? Simple and great taste!

Easy cherry pie recipe

When I decided to create an easy cherry pie recipe, I knew I wanted it to be semi-homemade. However I wanted this cherry pie recipe to stand out, but how?

The answer came to me after seeing a streusel topping. Why not add a streusel to cherry pie! With the topping addition it would still be an easy cherry pie recipe.

Cherry pie with crumb topping

A streusel topping is a dough crumb topping. So how does a cherry pie with a crumb topping do as a semi-homemade recipe?

The taste testers on this cherry pie recipe loved it. By using a frozen pie crust and the canned pie filling, I do cut down on the time it would take to make a cherry pie from scratch.

However, by making a homemade crumb topping for this cherry pie, it adds that homemade taste. This cherry pie with crumb topping is perfect for a busy person that wants a homemade dessert to present!

Canned pie filling

Do you use a homemade cherry pie filling or canned pie filling? As I stated before, there is nothing wrong with using a canned pie filling. It does make the pie recipe semi-homemade because the filling is premade.

I am very busy. Between my blogs, Seduction In The Kitchen and Recipes Of Disney, Plus I am a full-time phlebotomist. My time is stretched to the max. So I decided a ready-made canned pie filling is best to use when I want to make an easy pie recipe.
