Christmas
Are you ready for Christmas? Me, well I am as ready as I will ever be. Last year, I think because it was so warm, it didn’t feel like Christmas. Plus I had a co-worker who insisted on listening to Christmas music since July. When we complained to the lead tech at that time her response was, we need to keep that employee happy. Meanwhile, the rest of us suffered for close to 5 months. When Christmas did come around it had us in a bah humbug type of mood.
This year, we actually got to only listen to Christmas music since Thanksgiving. Which trust me we all appreciated. I think management realized pleasing one person wasn’t the answer to a good teamwork. Yet, it still feels bah humbug.
I know my other co-workers said the same thing. One said, “I wish it wasn’t about buying presents and back to what Christmas was about. Being with family, enjoying the birth of Christ, and a nice meal with no fighting.” I had said the same thing to my mom weeks earlier. We were so worried about Millie, plus, let’s face it, everyone is broke.
I used to love shopping for Christmas, now I feel it is hard. Admittingly, I hate the gift card thing. However, I do like giving presents, but everything is expensive. I am glad I am not the only one who agrees with this. My co-workers have said the same thing.
I know this year my mom has said this will be the Pot Luck Christmas. It basically, you get what you get, don’t complain about it. That is because simply we all can’t afford these extra expenses of 900 gifts to buy. Honestly. I do feel just being in Pa with my family, that is enough of a gift for me at Christmas.
Poor Man’s Stuffed Cabbage
Ok So I admit, as I have a few times here on Seduction in the Kitchen, obsessed with frozen pre-made meatballs. I have created: Cherry Spiced Meatballs, Slow Cooker Meatball Ranch Stroganoff, and Slow Cooker Meatball Stew. I like using them in ways you would not think of obviously. Also because they are quick and easy to use as well.
Stuffed cabbage was something I was really craving. It was cold and I wanted to do my usual weekend throw it in the slow cooker type of thing. However, I was feeling lazy. It was that type of day where I really didn’t want to do anything.
I had the frozen meatballs, my brain started thinking. What if I wrapped the cabbage around the meatballs and then into the sauce would it work? Yes and no. It would not hold together.
So, how about just throwing everything into the slow cooker and see what happens? that was what I did. It was deconstructed stuffed cabbage, but it was so good. Looking at it, I decided. Poot Man’s Stuffed cabbage was the perfect name.
Why? Well because of it also a great meal when you have not much in the cupboards. You throw what you have in the slow cooker and see what comes out. That was what I did. What came out was a very tasty dinner.

Do you use whole cabbage leaves, or can you tear them up?

I use both. I use the outer ones as the top covering over the very top and they are whole leaves, then tear up the inner leaves and just throw them in before I cover the whole thing with those outer leaves.
