To make the best Moscow mule recipe, you need the basic Moscow mule ingredients:
  • Vodka
  • Lime
  • Ginger beer

Ginger beer vs ginger ale

Did you know ginger beer is non-alcoholic? I did not! I thought it was a beer.

So if ginger beer is non-alcoholic, then why ginger beer vs ginger ale in the Moscow mule cocktail?

Ginger beer is brewed and fermented, while ginger ale is carbonated water flavored with ginger. Ginger beer is also a little stronger than ginger ale with a subtly spicy finish.

Although a ginger beer is preferred, I wanted less spice so this recipe is a ginger ale Moscow mule. A little sweet of ginger ale is perfect for a strawberry Moscow mule. Plus I think it makes for the best Moscow mule recipe.

Strawberry Moscow Mule

2 Strawberry moscow mules in copper cups and strawberries on top

A strawberry twist on a popular Moscow Mule drink!

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz lime juice from 4 sweet limes
  • 3-4 strawberries sliced
  • ginger ale

Instructions

  1. In a glass, put the strawberries and lime juice in it.
  2. Muddle the strawberries with the lime juice. (To muddle, you mixing and grinding the strawberries together to make a pulp.)
  3. Next, add the ice to the glass, and add the vodka.
  4. Finally, add the ginger ale, garnish with a strawberry and mint and ENJOY!
