It is funny, I started off my “starting over new in an old apartment” changes, the first change was getting rid the old furniture. I realized that old furniture were reminders of my past, all the pain I had gone through. In a way, me being afraid to move on.
Well, in this process now that the new furniture is here, I can not explain it, but I really feel like a huge weight was lifted from me. I feel a positive force around me. With that said, I come to realize, I don’t like my body. I always think I am smaller than what I am. I do diet all the time, but my weight yo yo’s so bad.
I had to go to my doctor for a checkup and I saw I had gained weight, which I knew because I been under a lot of stress, between my parents health, daily stress from life, and I think I got dumped again, that is another story, let just say it was over I think before it started, I like a relationship, he wants just fun. so that put an end to that relationship. So, I expected to see again.
During the visit, I asked, which surprised me as the words came out my mouth, “what is the deal with the bariatric program we have?” My doctor and I talked, and in a way, I do qualify. I eat healthily, believe it or not. Many of the sweets I make on here, I take to work, I actually do not eat them. Well, I am always on a diet. I cut out fast foods. I don’t like pop or soda as most say, I drink tons of water, lemon water mostly. I do everything I possibly can, but I have the hardest time, no matter what I do, losing weight. I have done everything from protein diets, which work, but then stops, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Curves, oh I could go on with diets I been on.
At one time my problem was I was losing weight for everyone but me, finally I realized I want to lose weight for me. I need help, I want to see what a bariatrics thinks is best for me. I am ready, I want to do this for me. I want to like my body. I love to do a YouTube cooking thing, but I am afraid because I am not a size 2.

- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 lb mushroom (sliced)
- 3 scallions (sliced)
- 3 cloves garlic (chopped fine)
- 1 teaspoon Greek oregano
- 1 medium tomato (diced)
- 1 lemon (juice of)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup Feta cheese
- In a pan, heat up the oil and then add the mushrooms. Start roasting the mushrooms in the oil for abou 2 minutes.
- Add the garlic, scallions, and oregano, mix it in well with the mushrooms.
- Then add the lemon and tomato. Continue roasting for another 2 minutes.
- Toss in the parsley, and mix it all well.
- Serve on a plate, top with the feta and ENJOY!
