Time now ticking away to the end of the year. Then we start the old traditions of making resolutions. Most involve losing weight and getting healthy. I looked in the mirror, I see how bad I let stress get to me and weight I gained since I moved. I dont exersize since I moved since the new place isnt in a complex and no gym. Not exersizing hurt me in I gained weight. In October I turn 40, I want the weight off by then. So I taken the first steps in doing lifestyle changes.
I am lucky that work has wellness programs and I am enrolled in one, plus I am looking for a gym I can commit to. By end January, I should be done with that crazy work schedule that has me in a car driving for 3 hours a day, 3 days a week, and many gyms have sign up specials, so it should be easy to get the gym I can go to. It time, I know it, I feel it and I am excited.
So what does all this mean? You will be seeing healthier recipes from me, lots of fish, like salmon, salads, even smoothies possibly. Though smoothies can be deceiving, some are not as healthy as they say. I will still have the goodies, I made a deal with one my friends, if I make a sweet recipe for Seduction in the Kitchen, she is taking it, and well I know she will be taking it for work. So it will be good, I can do my lifestyle changes and do a recipe blog.
Speaking of some changes, this has been in the works for a long time, but a mini spin-off of Seduction in the Kitchen is being worked on. My friends and myself used to a long time ago did dining reviews. I talked briefly on here about doing this venture with them. Well now that 2015 is coming up, and that was when I told we do this dining review again, we got the template being made and the final details are going in place, even as I write this post.
The Cleveland Foodie, it going to be all about dining in and around the Cleveland, Ohio area. We may do some road trips too, like places to eat in my Pittsburgh, Pa. I am so excited to do this venture with my friends again. They always been fun to do, how I will work that food into this diet, well that one the great things about this dining blog, since I am doing it with a group of people, I am the diet person, finding something on a menu that fits in for someone on a diet. We all have needs from Gluten allergy to someone trying to be a vegetarian, to just regular person. We all have different opinions on what is good and what is bad, in this blog, you see what we all think and find, plus a copy cat version of a recipe. Just like what I did for the Grilled Romaine Caesar Salad recipe. I think the readers of Seduction in the Kitchen will like this spin-off blog.
Another part of my 2015 plan is YouTube. Now that I have a much larger kitchen. I have room now to film. I am upgrading my camera from digital to a DSLR camera, and should becoming, hopefully with in a month. I finally got QVC straighten out, they agreed that since was a first time customer and not allowing the camera to a first time customer on easy pay was wrong on their part. So I agreed to get something on easy pay, which was a Christmas gift I was going to buy anyway, do it’s easy pay, pay it off to show a payment history, then they will let me get my camera. The DSLR has a video option, so filming for YouTube Channel will be easy, hopefully I will start doing that in February.
So now you know my 2015 plan for recipes and blogging. I said so many times Change is good, that is what my 2015 plan is all about, change and evolving. For me that is something I am doing on both the personal level as well as blogging as well.
As Christmas was coming, I did holiday baking. I really wanted to try and post all the recipes, but truthfully, the crazy work schedule and driving 3 hours a day, 3 days a week got the better of me. It tiring doing all that driving, so I did not get to post all the baking recipes. This cookie, I actually made and gave out in my goodie gift bags. They were a huge hit, the peanut butter with the combination of cranberries and white chocolate gave this cookie a great taste. The ingredients all worked harmonious.
- 1 cup butter (soften)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup quick-cooking oats
- 1/3 cup dried cranberries
- 1/4 cup white chocolate chips
- In large bowl mix the butter, sugars and peanut butter. Then add eggs one at a time.
- Blend flour, soda and salt together in a separate bowl, then add to sugar mixture.
- Mix in the oats, cranberries, and white chocolate chips
- Form into 1 1/2 inch balls and place on a cookie sheet, three inches apart.
- Bake 350 degrees for 12 minutes.
- Take them out the oven, and allow them to cool, then ENJOY!
