Slow Cooker Italian Sausage and Peppers

am not Italian, but I love Italian foods. Growing up my mom would make Italian hot sausage and meatball sandwiches. They would simmer away all day in the slow cooker. Oh, the aroma that would come from that slow cooker.

Sausage And Peppers Sandwich

When I am homesick, I admit I do make a sausage and peppers sandwich. It because I loved when my mom whould make her crock-pot sausage and peppers.

Sausage Peppers and Onions

Maybe that is why I have a meatball and Italian foods obsession. It comes from that Italian sausage remembrance of my mom cooking those beauties all day. Sausage peppers and onions just make me miss home.

Why? Italian sausage and meatballs are my family’s ritual Chrismas eve dish. Also, a hot sausage sandwich are served on special occasions or  when my mom doesn’t feel like cooking in the kitchen.

It is no secret that I have been improving myself with photography. I knew nothing of SEO when this Italian Sausage, Peppers, and Onions Sandwiches posted. My photo skills were ok. But my lighting was awful.

Part the problem was the old apartment I lived in. The pig downstairs took over the common area entryway with garbage. So I was unable to open the blinds to get the natural light properly.

Cooking Tip:

I could not climb over boxes and garbage. So the photos come out dark. Trust me she was the why I moved out that apartment, who needs to put up with that.

As I said, in the beginning, my family likes crock-pot sausage and peppers. My mom starts making this sausage and peppers in the morning by putting it in a slow cooker. She does that so you can eat the crockpot Italian sausage and peppers when you want.

Hot Sausage Sandwich

My mom does use a bottled sauce  for her hot sausage sandwich. I like making homemade sauce for my italian sausage and peppers recipe. So we do differ in this area when comes to the sausage and peppers sandwich.

I need to go back and update some photos on my old food posts! This sandwich is classic for a reason! I used to live near an Italian section of St. Louis and I could find the best sausage and pepper sandwiches, but they didn't look as good as yours!
