Just made it. Changed the recipe. Used 4# cabbage. Bag and a half mini pierogi. 2 kielbasa. 1 green pepper, diced. 1 small can sauerkraut, rinsed. 8 oz. sliced, sauteed mushrooms. Salt, pepper and garlic granules. Used my 8 qt. Note: At 3 hours, pierogi and kielbasa were done but cabbage was still too crunchy. Gave it 2 more hours. Cabbage done but pierogi and kielbasa a little overcooked. Comments: Next time, cooks all vegetables first for 2 hrs. This should get the cabbage to cook enough and settle so you can add the rest of the ingredients. Then add pierogi and kielbasa and cook 3 hours more. This should all cook together better without overcooking the pierogi and kielbasa. Definitely a keeper!

What size crockpot did you use? What does /2 mean in the ingredients? No salt or pepper? There is no liquid in the crockpot other than 2 Tb. lemon juice. Is that enough to to get it cooking? What size pierogie did you use, regular or mini?

hi Walter, When I changed my recipe card to a new one the importer messed a few recipes up and this one must have slipped by me. I have fixed it. I used my regular crockpot which an 8 qt one. I don't use salt and pepper in it, the spices of the kielbasa, celery seed and the lemon season it right for me. You can add it if you want. The stick of butter is also a liquid as well. It does give enough between that and the lemon juice, you can double the butter and lemon juice if you feel like you need more. I use regular pierogies
